So excited for Erika and Andrei’s wedding day at The Box House Hotel in Brooklyn, NY. This boutique hotel had been on my bucket list for a while, and it did not disappoint! With its unique design, vibrant personality, and incredible rooftop views, The Box House Hotel provided the perfect setting for unique wedding celebration.
The day began with Erika and Andrei getting ready in their respective rooms, surrounded by friends and loved ones. One of the standout features of The Box House Hotel is its boutique charm and eclectic style, blending industrial elements with a cozy, artistic vibe. Erika’s bridal suite, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, was filled with natural light, making it a dream space for capturing those intimate getting-ready moments.
Once everyone was ready, Andrei headed to the rooftop, eagerly waiting to see his bride for the first time. As Erika gracefully approached, her dress swaying in the breeze, Andrei turned around, completely captivated. The two shared a private, heartfelt moment, whispering sweet words to each other, before we moved on to family photos.
The Box House Hotel’s location on a quiet Brooklyn street was perfect for photos. We captured their formal family and bridal party shots right in front of the hotel, showcasing its charming exterior. Then came a unique tradition I’d never witnessed before in my 14+ years of wedding photography! Erika and Andrei brought out a bucket of water filled with coins, and as guests cheered, Erika kicked the bucket as far as she could—a cultural ritual symbolizing good luck and prosperity. It was a joy to photograph and such a fun, memorable moment!
Afterward, we made our way back to the 10,000-square-foot rooftop, which offers unparalleled panoramic views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island City. It’s a breathtaking setting for any wedding, leaving guests in awe of the skyline. Friends and family traveled from near and far, including Japan and Romania, to celebrate Erika and Andrei. To honor Erika’s Japanese roots, Erika and Andrei incorporated a Japanese tea ceremony officiated by Erika’s cousins from Japan. The rooftop was filled with laughter, love, and joy as the ceremony unfolded under the open sky.
As the sun set, the magic of the evening truly came alive. The city skyline twinkled with lights, and the dark sky sparkled with stars. Erika and Andrei danced, laughed, and celebrated late into the night, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
The Box House Hotel is a one-of-a-kind venue, blending urban sophistication with artistic charm. Its rooftop views, boutique-style accommodations, and vibrant atmosphere make it a perfect choice for couples looking to create a unique and unforgettable wedding experience.
Erika and Andrei, thank you for letting me be part of your incredible day. Wishing you a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventure!
