Alicia and Kevin made the bold decision to elope in the heart of the Big Apple before bidding adieu to city life and embracing suburban tranquility in New Jersey. Their choice resonates; after all, there’s something undeniably magnetic about tying the knot in NYC that sets it apart from anywhere else in the world.
Less than two weeks before their planned elopement at NYC City Hall, Alicia and Kevin reached out to me. I promptly scheduled a call to delve into the details, eager to understand their vision and expectations for their special day. It was essential for me to grasp their vibe and personalities; forging this connection and building relationship before the big day is super important to me.
On April 5, I rendezvoused with Alicia and Kevin outside The Office of the City Clerk – Marriage Bureau. Despite hoping for a warm, sunny day, the brisk April air lingered, accompanied by a chilly breeze. Accompanied by a friend who served as their witness, we walked into the building.
My camera was ready from outside documenting Alicia and Kevin, as I wanted to tell their story from beginning to end.
Inside, we navigated the bureaucratic procedures, clicking away at Alicia and Kevin as they pleasantly waited for their number to be called. With paperwork signed and formalities concluded, Alicia and Kevin became husband and wife in the blink of an eye.
We stayed a while longer inside the marriage bureau took the opportunity to capture some timeless moments posing on the iconic green sofa and NYC City Hall wall mural. Then we journeyed outside and wandered the vibrant bustling streets of NYC for some more photos. And what better way to conclude Alicia and Kevin’s NYC City Hall elopement than with a quintessential New York slice.
